Natural cherry wood in solid listels; silver key with symbol of the Wiener Werkstätte. cm. 130 x 58 x h. 218 Josef Hoffmann The wardrobe is slightly raised above the floor by four supports, and is characterised by a clearly visible supporting structure and three doors of differing sizes. A vertical jamb divides the front area into two parts of different width; the smaller is in turn divided horizontally into two. The three panels, although different, have the same figurative treatment, with concentric overlapping frames giving the idea of depth and the third dimension. In the reconstruction, three different surface finishes were used: one ebonising with underlying fibre in green (à la Hoffmann), the second in slightly silvered lacquer and the last buffered according to the classical procedure.
