Structure in solid oak, levels in plated oak, transparent glass
cm. 118 x 38,5 x h. 103
Carlo De Carli
One of the first expressions of “analytic” forms in De Carli’s furniture, the display case is almost the manifesto of an idea of spiritual rationality in architecture, ideally referable to the Como-based architecture of Giuseppe Terragni. Constructed in oak, it is has an open-work support structure with slim rectangular listels, into which, with accentuated detachments and jutting-out, fit the independent display volumes with partially windowed sides and hinged front doors in solid wood and glass; together with the upper level in crystal, they give an appearance of lightness and transparency to the whole.
Light front engravings on the jambs and slim frames on the doors introduce particular effects of luminous vibration.
In the accurate reconstruction, particular attention was paid to the open-work finishing on the back surface, enabling the object to be have a free position in the room.
