Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann
Model with tripod support in rosewood, created in 1929 for the customer whose name it bears. Unlike tables with a central or lateral support, the tripod focuses attention on each single foot, distracting it from the support system as a whole.
The top is surrounded by a rounded edge which holds the glass in place. The top has a tapering thickness, and narrows towards the edge of the circle to contrast with the full-bodied shape of the legs, giving the whole figure lightness, movement, balance and harmony.
